Tiaan & Karin | Natte Valleij
Tiaan & Karin are once again one of those couples. I love everything about them. When I first met Karin I was blown away by how beautiful she is and when she shared their love story I couldn't wait to be part of their wedding day.
Natte Valleij is a beautiful venue. I love the beautiful gardens, the old buildings and the friendly four-legged friends that pop in from time to time. But mostly I love the owners - They are the sweetest, kindest people and even brought us coffee when we were still working at 5am in the morning.
Karin wanted big round leafed eucalyptus everywhere, and that is exactly what we did! We decided on hanging arrangements covered with eucalyptus and long eucalyptus table runners. Karin has a wonderful grandfather who made her loads of beautiful gold geometric shapes we used on the tables and also arranged to hang out of the ceiling in between the naked bulbs.
Side bar - A testimony how our awesome God stepped in for us:
We started to cover all the hanging platforms and realised that these platforms will need way more eucalyptus than originally quoted for. The ceilings were so high and the eucalyptus we had allocated for the platforms will simply disappear in the massive space. This was not the only problem, it is 4pm on a Friday afternoon…. Not one of my suppliers will be able to arrange 50+ bushes of eucalyptus this time of the day! 5 minutes after this realisation took place in my thoughts I received a message from Tanya from Grand Room Design - they did all the lighting for us for this wedding. She asked if we needed more eucalyptus as she had a whole room full of eucalyptus they did not use for a previous event, and it will all be thrown away. I could not believe what I was reading. The even greater thing was , they were 10minutes away from the venue. I was in awe of how closely we are kept and blessed - grateful.
Karin looked absolutely stunning in her romantic wedding dress, but to be honest, all the attention was on her beautiful smile. She was one of the calmest brides I have ever met. We arranged a eucalyptus and orchid bouquet for her… This was quite a challenge as these two do not always go together but we loved the outcome!
We made eucalyptus bouquets and gold wired flower crowns for the bridesmaids. They were such a fun bunch of ladies, I knew Karin chose the best-of-the-best to be beside her on her wedding day.
We lightly dressed a wood gazebo and cross with eucalyptus and orchids and we made small eucalyptus posies for the chairs.
The reception was filled with long eucalyptus garlands and we added some lisianthus and orchids at the front ends. Gold berries were filled in, in between and we used glass base plates and glass candle sticks to reflect as much candlelight as possible. Gold and white candles complemented the crisp white serviettes and gold cutlery beautifully and we loved the little roses Karin’s gran made for the name cards.
Inecke Photography captured all the festivities so beautifully and Malita Joubert provided all the delicious food and drink. Goeters made sure we had the perfect monogram lights behind the newlyweds and again, a big thanks to Grand Room Design.
Thank you Karin and Tiaan for trusting me with your special day, for my beautiful message afterwards and for all your kindness. You will always be one of my very special couples and I wish you the most beautiful life together. Be happy. Be blessed.
